Smokescreen Paso Robles "The Chemist" Red Blend

Teroldego is a red wine grape that is grown mostly in the Trentino
wine region of northern Italy. Teroldego produces deeply pigmented
red wines with an intensely fruity character, a style that has become
something of an icon for Trentino’s wine industry.
The east side of the of the Paso Robles AVA, is warm but nights do not get
as cool as the western part of Paso Robles because it does not receive
the cool ocean breeze. The topography is uneven, with steep rolling hills.
The varietals for The Chemist are fermented separately and blended
before bottling. The Chemist was aged in French oak barrels, 20% which
are new.

  • The 2019 Chemist is a blend of GSM, Petite Sirah and our newest member,Teroldego. The Chemist has a deep, inky purple color and aromas of berry cobbler, blackberry and tobacco. On the palate the Chemist is abig, bold, racy wine with tons of black fruits, tar, graphite and a longfi nish with ultra-fi ne tannins. Although powerful, it is nuanced and elegantas Chemist fans expect, and is going to evolve gracefully.
